We are counting down to our second one-week intensive leadership conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshop will take place from July 22nd- July 27th, 2019.  We are pleased to announce that thirty-one participants from fifteen developing countries will attend. The countries represented are Colombia, Egypt, Guyana, India, Israel, Kenya, Lesotho, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saint Lucia, South Africa, Uganda, Turkmenistan and Vietnam.

The venue for the Kectil Youth Leadership Conference is the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology (“Georgia Tech” or “Ga Tech”). Ga Tech is ranked as one of the top ten public universities in the United States. It is a well-recognized center for STEM education and innovation. We are pleased to confirm that the conference will be moderated by Sherry M. Knowles, Founder and Executive Director of The Kectil Program. We are also thrilled to confirm that Mr. Martin Luther King III, a Kectil Program Advisory Board Member, and a Human Rights Advocate and Community Activist will be joining us at the conference, for a personal discussion with the youth.

We will also have our advisory board member Dr. Alison Montgomery joining us will present a talk on techniques for raising funds for community efforts and larger scale community projects. We are also very honored to be able to have a presentation by Dr. George Luber, a noted environmental activist who studies the effect of climate on disease demographics. We will also have presentations from Kectil Mentors Azeem Yousaf, Guguni Nyabade, Thamsanqa Hoza, Daniel Ochieng and Tabitha Nakholi.

We would like to thank AT&T, the huge telecommunications and entertainment company, for hosting the group at its offices in Atlanta to tour its AT&T Drive Studio to learn more about AT&T’s innovative efforts to use the internet in all aspects of transportation and commerce.

We would also like to thank Coca-Cola for inviting us to its world headquarters in Atlanta to hear about its business operations of Coca-Cola.

The highlight of the conference will be the youth participants’ country presentations that will include a discussion of the geography, history, culture, demographics and the political and social environment. The youth will share current challenges faced by youth and how the Kectil Program global network can best support all youth in developing countries.
